Summer Interns Wanted for Marketing and Communications

Love INC is seeking dynamic, self-starters to assist with marketing, fundraising, and communications efforts with emphasis on support for our upcoming charity golf tournament. These internships are an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing while working for a national faith and community-based nonprofit organization.


Organize, attend, and facilitate monthly marketing committee meetings including preparing and distributing agenda and taking minutes.

Reach out to the community organizations, general public, and donors with the message about Love INC and our partner churches and ministries.

Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications.


Must have a firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space.

Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications, Non-Profit Management, or Public Relations).

Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus, but not necessary

Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Google Drive).

Must be an effective communicator in both written and oral communications.

Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with community contacts.

Must be enthusiastic about others, self-motivated, have good organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.

Must be passionate about the mission of Love INC and the families we serve.

Start Date: Positions will be open until filled. Requires a 3-4 month commitment, culminating with the golf tournament on September 24th.

Hours: 20-30 hours / month. Many of these hours will be in planning meetings and doing outreach / face-to-face interactions with the community of Eastern Carver County.

Compensation: This is an unpaid/volunteer internship.

Wanted: A Rockstar Summer Intern

Love INC is looking for a Youth Activities Leader intern to help lead the activities at our Summer Lunch Program!

This summer, Love INC has partnered with District 112 to bring free lunches and activities to children in our community. The program is held at Riverview Terrace every Monday through Friday, 12 pm – 2 pm through the end of August. Each day, the students receive a free bag lunch and then stay to play games, participate in crafts, and have fun!

Hours: 10-15 hours weekly

Salary: Unpaid internship

Location: Chaska

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and lead youth activities during summer lunch program. This will include games, crafts, and educational activities.
  • Engage and interact with youth during the summer lunch program.
  • Assist with volunteer management for volunteers assisting in the summer lunch program.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions related to summer lunch program planning.
  • Other duties as assigned by Love INC staff.


  • Must be 20 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and National Sex Offenders check prior to starting intership.
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States.
  • Must be available Monday through Friday, 12 pm – 2 pm during summer lunch program times. Additional planning time will be required outside of these times and may be scheduled at your discretion.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from lunch program location.
  • Ideal candidates are self-motivated, independent, and open-minded adults who share a love for youth development and making a difference in their community.
  • Candidates should be able to show attention to detail, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and be comfortable interacting with children of all ages, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Must be energetic, active, and outgoing.
  • Ability to speak Spanish a plus, but not required.

Special attention will be given to candidates with a background in education or non-profit management, or those who are working towards said degrees.

Help Us Feed Children in Need this Summer!

Love INC has partnered with District 112 / Eastern Carver County schools to provide a lunch program for children in need during the summer months. Children (age 1-18) will receive lunch followed by participation in educational programming.

The lunch program will be held Monday through Friday and begins on June 12th. The program will end on September 1st. (There will be no meals served on July 3rd, and July 4th.)

Two to four (2-4) volunteers, at least 2 of whom are adults, are needed from 12:15 pm to 2:00 pm each day. Volunteers will assist in opening lunch packages, etc., and general supervision of the children during lunch and during the educational programming, which may include a game, reading, or other educational activities, as determined by the school district.

Families, adults, and children age 10+ are welcome to volunteer! We do ask that children age 10-15 be supervised at all times and a parent must volunteer along side the child. Children over age 15 may be present without a parent but must have transportation available promptly at 2:00 pm.
